Capitol Collision Center

Capitol Collision Center was established in 1975. Family owned by Steve and Kristy Morrow, we began in a small body shop performing fiberglass repairs and Model A restorations. Over time we have evolved into a full–service collision repair facility that still possesses the lost art of fabrication and craftsmanship, a skill which is required for high end repairs, restorations, and show cars.

Capitol Collision Center’s goal is to provide exceptional customer service that cannot be found in just any body shop today, as well as outstanding collision repairs at competitive pricing, with your complete satisfaction guaranteed.

We are a state–of–the art facility with modern tools, training, and environmentally friendly paint products. We spray PPG Envirobase water–based paint on all vehicles and are committed to keeping our air, land, and water clean by supporting all environmental protection acts.

Our knowledgeable, friendly, and professional staff is ready to assist you. We will provide you with a computerized written estimate of the repairs necessary. We will communicate with you throughout the repair process and return your vehicle to you as promptly as possible. We work on all makes and models and will work with all insurance companies to handle the processing of your claim. We can also assist you with rental car coordination.

Michael Retzlaff – Manager

Michael is our General Manager and his duties are to help customers, assist anyone who needs an extra hand in the shop, and make sure the shop has a harmonic balance throughout the week. This is crucial to ensure that we continuously work as a team and maintain the family feels, like all families we disagree from time to time but Michael affectively communicates in a way that defuses all negativity.

Michael is a Marine veteran that has served our country for over 7 years in the Force Recon. From the Marines he went on to become a firefighter/paramedic and decided that the automotive industry would be fun because his love for cars. He has worked on both sides of the fence. He was in the insurance industry for many years and started working in shops because he loved to serve his community. Michael's favorite thing to do here is play jokes on the guys, he tries to use his special ops training to sneak up and scare everyone to keep everyone awake and alert. When Michael is at the shop, everyone is relieved and happiness shows in there facial expressions.

When he isn't at the shop he is most likely taking his wife on dates, wheeling his jeep, or competing in Ironman competitions. He trains for his events daily by swimming, biking, and running after work and majority of his weekends.

When looking at him nobody would guess that he has grandkids but he has 3 that he spoils and spends time with often. He will talk your ears off about his wife and grandkids.

Ethan Nolan – Body Technician

Ethan is one of our technicians that wear more than one hat in the shop. Whenever we get very busy which happens a lot Ethan helps out the paint department with prep work, polishing, detailing and much more. Ethan has 6 years of experience total and has been with us for a little over a year.

The reason Ethan got into the automotive industry is because his love for puzzles and working with his hands. Ever since he was a kid he was building puzzles and challenging his skills. Whenever he is faced with a challenge, give him a few minutes and it will be done, it is rare for him not to find a solution. His favorite thing about working here is taking cars apart and the feeling of accomplishment when the vehicle is brought back to pre-accident condition.

Like everyone else that works here Ethan loves the people that work here and not having to worry about someone else taking a job from him. He loves the family feel the shop has as well as the willingness everyone has to helping him when he has a problem he can't solve. He is always learning from all the other guys that have more years of experience causing him to be more productive getting more cars out in great condition.

When he isn't working you can find him reading fictional novels. Depending on time he could finish reading a book cover to cover in a week or two. When it comes to movies he is the guy you ask for a good referral for any action movie. He attends Comic-Cons and keeps up to date with action movies. He hasn't referred a bad movie yet and has a good point of view if a movie is worth watching or not.

Chris Morrow – Shop Foreman and Lead Body Technician

Chris is the brother of owner Steve and has worked at the shop for 18 years. He is the best when it comes to high–quality repairs. He is so detailed and meticulous on repairs that even those in the industry can't beat him. He is a platinum–level I–CAR technician and is a PPG and Dupont–trained refinish technician.

Chris is a great teacher and takes pride in passing the skills he has acquired down to the next generation of technicians and painters. When it comes to fun at work he likes to play cards with the other co-workers on his lunch and claims this is what brings everyone closer and creates the family atmosphere the shop possesses. On his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids going camping, boating, and wake boarding.

Something most people don't know about Chris is that he has been raising cows for the past 10 years to show his kids the agricultural ways as well as the personal gains of "Doing it yourself". One of his best cows has been part of his family for 7 years because she births quality cows.

Mike Pettinnato – Lead Painter

Mike is one of the most important people when it comes to repairing a car after an accident. If your car paint is not done right you can immediately tell, and Mike happens to be the best painter in Sacramento. He is invaluable to our shop. Mike is an I–CAR Platinum–trained refinish technician and has been in the business for more than 25 years.

Mike started to work at his first body shop before he could even drive. Mike has been here since the early 90's. He loves that we use quality PPG paint products and takes pride in all his work. When asked what is his favorite part of working here is he doesn't hesitate to say "The family feel makes it better to work here compared to any other place. We get all weekends off and personal time off during the week if needed for additional family time".

Mike likes to attend lots of concerts with his wife and friends from high school. He actually met his wife at a Tesla concert when they were young and hasn't missed a local Tesla concert with her since then. Mike has traveled a lot in the last few years. He has gone to Mexico, Alaska, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and is still planning places to go with his wife and kids in the future.

Something not a lot of people know about Mike is that he has 20 years of motocross experience. He prefers a Honda CR250 2 Stroke when he would race. On his lunches he would tinker with it and get it ready for racing all weekend.

Kevin Dry – Apprentice Body Technician

Kevin has been with the shop for the last 3 years. He is constantly taking training courses to continue growing his knowledge. There aren't enough people that are detail oriented in this world like he is you can always expect perfection and quality from his repairs.

Kevin is a United States Air Force Veteran and served from September 11, 2005 – September 11, 2013. Who is more qualified to work on your family van than Kevin who repaired and kept U2 planes in our skies for 8 years? Why did he want to be in the Air Force? The only reason anyone would want too, he wanted to protect and serve his country. He has been stationed all around the world to places all over Europe, America, and many more.

On most weekends you can find Kevin working on his motorcycle or spending time with his wife. He will be having his first daughter in a few months and is looking forward to the new addition to his family.

In the past Kevin was a skydiving king with more jumps than you can count on all your fingers and toes. He had his self-jump master certificate and stopped only because of his growing family.
